I scarcely know where to begin but love is always a safe place.

–Emily Dickinson

Knowing what you love is essential for igniting your passion to go after your dreams. Despite the twists and turns of life, if you make conscious choices aligned with your deepest core values, you’ll optimize your ability to stay present at the center of your life-experience and continue to be inspired, resilient and happy.

Many of us have heard Paul Chek say, “You can’t give what you don’t have!” And never is this truer when embodying happiness and sharing that vibration so that you can be happiness! The healthier you are, the more resourceful and vibrant your happiness expression is – it’s all the easier to share with others. The exploration you are about to undertake today is a process of remembering who you are and awakening inner joy as you are. Be prepared to be astonished and amazed as you fall in love with yourself!

Key 1: Know Yourself (explore whole person awareness – body, mind and spirit)

Our senses are amazing gifts of intelligence. When we are present with what we see, hear, feel, smell and taste we are present with life – up front and real. Although not all experiences are pleasant or extraordinary, learning the skill to observe and witness your experience leads to awareness that in this moment, you do have a choice. As the choice-maker of your own experience, happiness arises when you ground self in the here and now, no matter your life circumstances.

Confronted, you can choose to conform or transform – this is the gift of free will.

I invite you to cultivate curiosity and receptivity. Start with the breath to drive awareness and attention inside.

Explore the concept of who you are: your gifts, your special talents or abilities, your strengths and weaknesses, your likes and dislikes. What is your thinking or feeling style? Are you a visual, auditory or kinesthetic learner? How do you prefer being loved, how do you love? Discovering who you are through life is an exercise in coming to terms with the whole of you.

Take a moment to fill in the blanks to the following sentences to get to the heart of you. Make sure that you give yourself at minimum 5 answers. Think of those special gifts that are unique to you and use lots of adjectives.

1.     I am _________________________________________________________________________

2.     I want _______________________________________________________________________

3.     I am here to do _______________________________________________________________

Then string it all together for your personal creed.

Knowing who you are and your unique purpose opens the gates for you to embody happiness and self-love. Having the inner self-talk that says, “I know who I am, I know why I’m here, I know what I want, and I know how to get it” builds confidence that you can use to fuel your passion to achieve your dreams.

Key 2: Be True to Your Deepest Core Values (I before We)

Most of us have had the experience of betraying our deepest self and giving our precious power away. It can be painful, but even this ache is ready to show up as your greatest teacher, if only you just let it.

Investigating your core values opens the door for your own living code of conduct. You set your own standards. To live in alignment with your deepest core values takes the transformative power of commitment and caring dedication. By committing to life-affirming principles you’ll be guided through the inspired times as well as the times when you feel disheartened.

We all struggle to be true to ourselves, welcoming human life as an opportunity to awaken, to learn and to contribute. Your 4 Doctors core values should affirm your dream, reflective of the values you choose to live.

Key 3: Awaken Nourishing Rhythms (everything moves in cycles)

Through the seasons we are aware of the changes in nature, but also what challenges we have turned around or transcended to become the people we are today. Your daily rhythms maintain a sense of regularity and certainty so that you live in harmony with your environment and with others throughout your year. These rhythms include meal times, sleep and wake intervals, as well as work and play phases.

This is where your 4 Doctors can help you to nourish the whole of yourself so that you have the energy to create, work, play and enjoy the vitality of a healthy body balanced by a lifestyle that is shareable with your family and community. When you care for yourself, you establish positive habits that will empower you to thrive effortlessly.

Key 4: Express Your Happiness! (love becoming visible)

Smile, laugh and allow yourself to be moved by your own self-generated happiness!

Dance, sing, draw, paint, rattle and drum. Invite others to participate with you because we feel happy by sharing happiness. We see happiness in the sparkle of a happy person’s eyes, the sound of their laughter and the smile that graces their face. The happy person is comfortable with who they are and what they are purposefully manifesting.

Embodying happiness is a practice. Commit to reciting your creed everyday – especially when you find yourself with difficult people or in challenging situations, it’s a practice that has the seed for actualizing your potential, instilling an uncommon sense of balanced stillness. As you become the co-creator of your future, take time to check within via your breath, listen to your body and respond with who you want to be and have affirmed that you are. Be your happiness!

By embodying happiness you’ll celebrate loving yourself, your life, your experience – free to live as love with authenticity, appreciation, and gratitude. That’s a lot of happy loving!
