IMS Level 5 is the final stage in the Integrated Movement Science pathway and a key step toward becoming a Master CHEK Practitioner — the professional level associated with the deepest integration of CHEK assessment, coaching, clinical reasoning, personal development, and applied client experience.
Lead other CHEK Practitioners
At this level, many practitioners move beyond working only one-to-one with clients. You may begin leading your own team of CHEK Practitioners, managing complex cases across your practice, supporting junior practitioners, and maintaining a higher standard of client care across your organisation.
Step into clinical leadership
IMS5 can support progression into senior roles within a clinic, performance facility, or your own practice. The focus often shifts toward leadership, mentoring, quality control, client strategy, and helping the wider team deliver better outcomes.
Move toward CHEK Faculty apprenticeship
For selected practitioners, IMS5 may form part of the pathway toward a CHEK Faculty apprenticeship, where and when opportunities are available. This requires more than technical skill — it requires maturity, embodiment of the CHEK principles, teaching ability, professionalism, and long-term commitment.
Represent the CHEK profession

Integrated Movement Science (IMS) is the CHEK Institute's five-level exercise and rehabilitation training pathway. It takes you from foundational corrective exercise and performance coaching (IMS 1) through to mastery of the full CHEK Totem Pole system and holistic health at the highest level (IMS 5). Each level builds progressively on the last, combining advanced musculoskeletal assessment, exercise prescription, and mind-body principles.
There are five levels: IMS 1 (5 days), IMS 2 (5 days), IMS 3 (5 days), IMS 4 (5 days), and IMS 5. Each level has its own prerequisites and leads to a recognised CHEK Practitioner designation.
To reach Level 5 — the highest designation in the CHEK system — you must complete IMS Level 5, submit a Case History, and complete a CHEK Thesis. Master CHEK Practitioners have a depth and breadth of holistic health knowledge that is extremely rare in the profession.
IMS 5 integrates all prior IMS and HLC training into a comprehensive whole. The course begins with a full review of all CHEK teachings, then moves into Metaphysics as they relate to reading the body — covering the 7 Chakra System and the correlation between physical and energetic centres. Students master Paul Chek's 4 Doctors system and learn the basics of non-violent communication and sacred listening. Graduates of IMS 5 are Master CHEK Practitioners.
Prerequisites: completion of IMS Level 4 and HLC Level 3 including exams; proficient mastery of all IMS 4 concepts; current status as a Licensed CHEK Professional; case histories (contact the CHEK Institute for requirements); Nonviolent Communication: The Language of Compassion by Marshall Rosenberg; and Non Violent Communication: The Basics as I Know and Use Them by Wayland Myer.
