CHEK Licensing & Professional Standards
Maintain an active CHEK designation through ongoing development, professional accountability, and a clearly defined scope of practice.
CHEK licensing exists to protect the credibility of the CHEK System and the practitioners who represent it. It sets a professional standard for continuing education, provides access to licensed-only resources, and clarifies what CHEK designations do — and do not — cover.
Two CHEK Licenses. Two Training Pathways.
CHEK licenses reflect different training pathways. The license you earn depends on the combination of CHEK training programs completed.
CHEK Practitioner License
The CHEK Practitioner License represents the full integrated CHEK training pathway. Practitioners complete both Integrated Movement Science (IMS) and Holistic Lifestyle Coaching (HLC), applying the CHEK System as a comprehensive approach to health and performance.
- Practice as a licensed CHEK Practitioner
- Assess and coach using integrated movement and lifestyle systems
- Work within defined CHEK professional scope and referral standards
CHEK Professional License
The CHEK Professional License is awarded to individuals who have completed training in one CHEK education track — either Integrated Movement Science (IMS) or Holistic Lifestyle Coaching (HLC).
- Be recognised as CHEK-trained within completed programs
- Practice and market services as a licensed CHEK Professional
- Progress to CHEK Practitioner by completing the complementary training track

Clear Scope. Professional Boundaries.
CHEK Practitioners and CHEK Professionals are not medical professionals, and CHEK licensing does not grant authority to diagnose, treat, or manage medical diseases or conditions.
✓ Within Scope
- Lifestyle coaching guided by structured client questionnaires
- Assessment-led corrective exercise and program design
- Support long-term health patterns, resilience, and performance
- Maintain professional referral networks
✗ Outside Scope
- Diagnose or treat disease
- Treat acute injuries or medical symptoms
- Provide counselling or treat specific mental health conditions
- Operate outside a coaching and training scope
Note for medically trained practitioners: Many licensed CHEK Practitioners already hold qualifications in physiotherapy, chiropractic, psychotherapy, or medicine. The CHEK System may be integrated into their existing scope when appropriate, or offered as a separate non-medical coaching service alongside their regulated practice.
Where CHEK Practitioners Work
CHEK Practitioners are not defined by a gym floor or a clinic room — they operate in the space between conventional fitness and conventional healthcare.
Gyms & Training Studios
Many begin in gyms or private studios. Some facilities require a baseline personal training certification (requirements vary by country and region).
Clinic Partnerships
Some work alongside manual therapy or medical therapy clinics, providing integrated coaching that supports clients after acute treatment — creating a strong continuity-of-care model.
Independent Practices
Many experienced practitioners build independent practices and, in some cases, open CHEK-focused coaching facilities.
Note for medically trained practitioners: Many licensed CHEK Practitioners already hold qualifications in physiotherapy, chiropractic, psychotherapy, or medicine. The CHEK System may be integrated into their existing scope or offered as a separate non-medical coaching service alongside their regulated practice.
Professional/public liability insurance is typically required when working with the general public. Requirements vary by state and country. CHEK Practitioners generally operate outside medical insurance systems and instead offer structured private packages aligned with their scope.
Business Training & Coaching

Clinical skill is only part of the equation. To build a sustainable practice, you need a business system: clear client pathways, ethical marketing, pricing structure, delivery models, and retention.
